News from University Politics:

Last Tuesday, the Student Parliament (StuPa) met again. Below we present the most important topics and resolutions of the StuPa meeting.

Amendment of the Contribution Regulations

The biggest increase concerns the semester ticket. As this is linked to the price of the regular Deutschlandticket, the contribution will rise from €176.40 to €208.80. Furthermore, the contribution to student self-administration without student councils had to be increased from €6.50 to €8.00 in order to compensate for funding shortfalls. Due to the reduced reserves of the student body, a contribution of €1.50 was also requested to finance the relief fund.

The university sports fee will increase from €0.75 to €1.00. In return, students will have access to a free weekend offer. The cost of using the MetropolRadRuhr service will increase by €0.25 to €2.00.

The contributions for the self-administration of the student councils (€1.28), the Theater-flat (€1.50), the university radio station ElDoradio (€0.25) and the city and state library (€0.15) remain the same.

The total amount has thus risen from €178.58 to €224.88.

Working Group Against Extension of Deregistration Deadlines for Examinations

In some faculties there is a tendency to bring forward the cancellation deadline for written examinations from one day to seven days before the examination date.

So far, this postponement has only occurred in the Department of Computer Science; however, it looks like other faculties could follow suit. In order to take joint action against the postponement, some students have agreed to set up a working group. We will inform you about future meetings here or on Instagram: @astatudortmund
