IMPFEN – Wie? Wann? Wo?

Auch wenn das Impfen keine Pflicht ist und jeder diese Entscheidung selbst fällen darf und soll, so sehen wir viele Vorteile darin sich gegen Covid 19 impfen zu lassen. Sei es, um hoffentlich bald wieder in die Präsenz-Lehre zurückzukehren, oder auch nur um sich selbst vor einer Ansteckung oder einem schlimmen Verlauf zu schützen. Wie gesagt, es ist KEINE Pflicht. Aber ein paar Informationen wollten wir doch an euch weitergeben.

Jeder, der 18 Jahre alt ist, darf sich inzwischen über ein offizielles Impfzentrum oder einen niedergelassenen Arzt impfen lassen – guckt einfach bei euren Ärzten, ob diese Covid-Impfungen anbieten. Vieler Orts geht das inzwischen auch ohne Termin, man muss dann nur ein wenig Zeit mitbringen. Falls für den Tag das Impf-Kontingent doch einmal aufgebraucht sein sollte, wird eine Impfung am Folgetag garantiert! Oftmals bieten Städte und Kommunen sogar großflächige Impf-Wochen oder ähnliche Aktionen an, um den Zugang zu erleichtern. 

Falls dennoch Fragen offen sind, versuchen wir hier einige davon zu beantworten.

Wer darf sich impfen lassen?

Prinzipiell darf sich fast jeder impfen lassen. Wer mindestens 18 Jahre alt, eine Krankenversicherung, eine Form der Aufenthaltsgenehmigung für Deutschland, sowie seinen festen Wohnsitz hier hat, kann die Angebote seines Bundeslandes wahrnehmen. Auch internationale Studierende haben die Freiheit in Deutschland ein Impfangebot wahrzunehmen. Auch hier müssen die erwähnten Auflagen erfüllt sein:

  • ein Wohnsitz in NRW
  • sich bei der Ausländerbehörde (Nicht-EU Staatsangehörigkeit) bzw. bei den Bürgerdiensten (EU Staatsangehörigkeit) ordnungsgemäß anmelden
  • eine aktuelle Krankenversicherung besitzen

Wo in Dortmund kann ich mich impfen lassen?

Am einfachsten ist es, sich beim offiziellen Impfzentrum Dortmund in der Warsteiner Music Hall auf Phoenix-West einen Termin zu holen. Das Impfzentrum Dortmund ist täglich von 8.00 Uhr bis 18.45 Uhr geöffnet. 

Auch wenn ihr dort NICHT ZWINGEND einen Termin braucht, ist es immer zeitlich leichter zu planen, wenn ihr euch doch vorher anmeldet. Das Buchen eines Termins kann ganz einfach via Telefon oder online durchgeführt werden.

Even though getting vaccinated is not mandatory and it is good that the decision rests with us personally, we do think there are a lot of upsides to getting extra protection from Covid 19 via vaccination. To that end, we’ve compiled some information on vaccinations in Germany for all of you. 

Everyone that is at least 18 years old is, at this point, allowed to get vaccinated via an official vaccination center or a licensed physician. Just check with your GP or other physician if they offer vaccinations. Most of the time, you can now even get vaccinated without booking an appointment. Just factor in some more waiting time and in the unlikely event that, for that day, there are no more doses left, you will be guaranteed to receive your first shot the next day. 

Who is allowed to get a vaccine?

Generally, nearly everyone is allowed to get vaccinated in Germany. You need to be at least 18 years of age, be health insured and you need to have your place of residence registered here in Germany (NRW specifically to get your shot here in Dortmund). International students are also allowed to get vaccinated here! Similar requirements apply. A vaccination is now possible for anyone who

  • has a registered place of residence in NRW
  • has duly registered with the Foreigners‘ Registration Office (non-EU citizenship) or Citizens‘ Services (EU citizenship)
  • as well as has current health insurance

Where in Dortmund can I get vaccinated? 

The easiest way to get your shot is to come by an official vaccination center. To coordinate capacities as best as possible, booking an appointment is useful. However, in many places it is possible to drop in without an appointment, including the Dortmund Vaccination Center in the Warsteiner Music Hall on Phoenix-West. The Dortmund Vaccination Center is open daily from 8:00 am to 6:45 pm. The best option is to just make the appointment today. You can easily book an appointment by phone or online.
