First Semester Bag Design Competition 2026

Once again this year, the joint Freshers’ Bag Design Competition by AStA TU Dortmund and Studierendenwerk Dortmund is taking place! 🎨✨
We are looking for creative designs for the freshers’ bags for the winter semester 2026.

The motto: “Point of View (POV): You’re a First Semester”

What defines the start of student life at TU Dortmund? Which first impressions, challenges, highlights, or typical fresher moments belong on the bag? We’re looking forward to your ideas! 💚

Please make sure to follow these requirements:

• One-sided design in black on a white background
• No duplicate submissions and only one design per person
• Single-color and print-ready
• Preferably in portrait format
  The print area is usually square, max. 30 × 30 cm; however, the motif itself does not have to be square.
• File format: PDF, SVG, or another vector file format
• No text, including the motto
• No logos
  Exception: TU symbol on the Mathetower
• The AStA and Studierendenwerk logos will be added by us
• Not too detailed, as very fine details are not suitable for bag printing
• No AI-generated images
  Suspected cases will not receive any votes in the selection process.

After receiving your design by email, we will send you a confirmation of submission within two days. The date of the vote will be announced to all participants by email in advance. The winners will be informed shortly after the vote — so please refrain from sending inquiries.

The first three places will be chosen by majority vote during a weekly AStA meeting:

🏆 1st place: Your design on the freshers’ bags + €250 prize money
🥈 2nd place: €150 prize money
🥉 3rd place: €100 prize money
