All information on ticket refunds can be found in the How To Ticket Refund.

This is how ticket refunds work:

Select your refund reason.
Fill out the application form.
Upload all required documents.

The following file formats are accepted: pdf, png, jpg, jpeg.

Each file must not be larger than 5 MB. For larger files, you can simply upload them to a cloud service such as https://sciebo.de and attach the link to your text.

Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof (disability with free travel authorisation) - Photo of your stamp from the pension office (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "disability with free travel authorisation" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 30th of April
in the winter semester: 30th of October

INFO: both proofs are required!
Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof (disability without free travel authorisation) - Medical certificate of incapacity to travel or inability to use public transport (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "disability without free travel authorisation" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 30th of April
in the winter semester: 30th of October

Proof (removal from the register of students) - confirmation of removal from the register of students (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "removal from the register of students" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 15th of September
in the winter semester: 15th of March

INFO: both proofs are required!
Proof (change of institution of higher education) - confirmation of removal from the register of students of the old institution of higher education (mandatory field)

Proof (change of institution of higher education) - certificate of enrollment of the new institution of higher education (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "change of institution of higher education" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 15th of September
in the winter semester: 15th of March

INFO: both proofs are required!
Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof (Study outside Germany due to thesis) - Letter from the company on the facts of the case or letter from the supervisor on the external work (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "Study outside Germany due to thesis" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 30th of April
in the winter semester: 31th of October

INFO: both proofs are required!
Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof (Study outside Germany due to study abroad) - Erasmus certificate or BAföG certificate from the host university with exact study dates (start and end) - (A letter of acceptance cannot be recognised) (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "Study outside Germany due to study abroad" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 30th of April
in the winter semester: 31th of October

Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof (Study outside Germany due to internship) - Letter from the company on the facts of the case or internship certificate (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "Study outside Germany due to internship" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 30th of April
in the winter semester: 31th of October

Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof-1 (Study outside Germany due to doctoral degree program) - enrollment certificate (mandatory field)

Proof-2 (Study outside Germany due to doctoral degree program) - Registration certificate or employment contract with proof of doctorate or letter from the supervisor about the external doctoral degree program (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "Study outside Germany due to doctoral degree program" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 30th of April
in the winter semester: 31th of October

Proof (Study outside Germany with leave of absence) - enrollment certificate with note of leave of absence (mandatory field)

Proof (Study outside Germany with leave of absence) - Erasmus certificate or BAföG certificate or etc... (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "Study outside Germany with leave of absence" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 30th of April
in the winter semester: 31th of October

Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof (late enrollment) - (temporary) certificate of enrollment or certificate according to §9 BAföG (Federal Education and Trainings Assistance Act) (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "late enrollment" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 15th of September
in the winter semester: 15th of March

Certificate of Matriculation (mandatory field)

Proof (Visa problems) - The visa received or proof of why a visa was not issued on time (mandatory field)

Deadlines for the refund of the semester ticket with the refund reason "Visa problems" are as follows:
in the summer semester: 15th of September
in the winter semester: 15th of March

INFO to refund reason "Visa problems":
Unfortunately, there are fees for transfers abroad that we cannot cover. The fees incurred will be deducted from the refund amount. We cannot specify the amount of the fees as they vary depending on the bank and country.
