TECHNIK-VERLEIH DES ASTA GEHT AN DEN START

Es ist uns eine besondere Freude zum Ende unserer Amtszeit noch dieses Projekt an den Start bringen zu können:

Der AStA der TU Dortmund bietet nun einen Technik-Verleih für TU Studierende in Notlagen an! 

Was genau bedeutet das? 

Im Verlauf des digitalen Semesters haben wir erfahren, wie viele Studierende dank fehlendem Equipment Probleme hatten vollumfänglich an digitalen Seminaren und Vorlesungen teilzunehmen. 

Der Verleih ist für Studierende in Notlagen gedacht, die kurz- oder langfristig ein Laptop, ein Headset oder eine Webcam brauchen, um ihr Studium erfolgreich weiterführen zu können. Ganz konkret meint das Studierende: 

  • die kurzfristig einen Ersatz benötigen, während sie sich neue Hardware anschaffen
  • die über längeren Zeitraum Geld sparen müssen, um sich einen neuen PC kaufen zu können
  • die für diese eine kurze Zeit ein Headset oder eine Webcam brauchen, sich dafür aber nicht direkt selbst welche anschaffen möchten.

Mit Blick auf die Nachhaltigkeit wurden vorerst 15 gebrauchte und aufbereitete Laptops angeschafft. Auch hoffen wir, den Verleih in Zukunft noch zu erweitern, aber das erste Geld der Studienstiftung floss in die Entwicklung und die erste Equipment-Anschaffung. Wenn das Projekt gut anläuft, wird das Angebot ausgebaut.

AStA Media Rental Center officially opens

It is an immense pleasure for us to provide you with our newest service right at the end of our tenure as your AStA-Team.

The AStA of TU Dortmund University now offers a media rental center for students in dire circumstances! 

What does that mean? 

Throughout the digital semesters we continuously realized that one of the major struggles for students was the lack of equipment to take part in all their online classes. 

So this rental service was created for students who run into trouble due to a broken laptop , broken headset or lacking a webcam to take part in exams or similar situations. Specifically it means students who

  • Need a computer short term to finish a term paper or similar university related things, while they buy themselves a new one
  • Need a computer longterm while they safe up for buying a new computer
  • Need a headset or a webcam only short term and don’t see the need to buy a new one for that short term use

Keeping sustainability in mind, we have bought 15 used and refurbished laptops and fitting equipment to start off. We do hope to widen our rental service as the time goes by, but for now, the foundation money we were granted was invested in buying this first set of computers as well as putting together all the legal necessities.
