Chief Financial Officer Wanted!

You want to volunteer in (university) politics? The General Student Committee (AStA) is looking for a person that wants to become the new chief financial officer during the legislation 2026/27. The work amounts to ca. 20 hours per week and is compensated with 992€ per month.

You tasks:

  • budgeting planning for the student body
  • check the placing of the AStA relief fund
  • financial counseling of the student body’s working groups
  • factual check of the fiance regulations

This you should bring with you:

  • German as your native language or on C2 level
  • good knowledge of numbers/excel
  • self organized and independent work
  • interest and motivation regarding the topic finance
  • being on campus at least three times per week
  • study abroad is not possible
  • good communication skills

This is also useful:

  • knowledge about accounting and budget planning
  • knowledge about university politics and the structure of the student body
  • having fun with organizational work
  • reading legal texts and guidelines
  • having fun dealing with numbers

Info: This is not an ordinary student job. It is a political office, therefore you should be ready to become an active member of the student body and represent the interests of all students at TU Dortmund university. Therefore, you will have to be elected by the student parliament.

First Semester Bag Design Competition 2026

Once again this year, the joint Freshers’ Bag Design Competition by AStA TU Dortmund and Studierendenwerk Dortmund is taking place! 🎨✨
We are looking for creative designs for the freshers’ bags for the winter semester 2026.

The motto: “Point of View (POV): You’re a First Semester”

What defines the start of student life at TU Dortmund? Which first impressions, challenges, highlights, or typical fresher moments belong on the bag? We’re looking forward to your ideas! 💚

✉️ Email content: Declaration of consent for the publication of your design

Please make sure to follow these requirements:

  • One-sided design in black on a white background
  • No duplicate submissions and only one design per person
  • Single-color and print-ready
  • Preferably in portrait format
    The print area is usually square, max. 30 × 30 cm; however, the motif itself does not have to be square.
  • File format: PDF, SVG, or another vector file format
  • No text, including the motto
  • No logos
    Exception: TU symbol on the Mathetower
  • The AStA and Studierendenwerk logos will be added by us
  • Not too detailed, as very fine details are not suitable for bag printing
  • No AI-generated images
    Suspected cases will not receive any votes in the selection process.

After receiving your design by email, we will send you a confirmation of submission within two days. The date of the vote will be announced to all participants by email in advance. The winners will be informed shortly after the vote — so please refrain from sending inquiries.

The first three places will be chosen by majority vote during a weekly AStA meeting:

🏆 1st place: Your design on the freshers’ bags + €250 prize money
🥈 2nd place: €150 prize money
🥉 3rd place: €100 prize money
