Daily the washer/dryer can only be booked by one person at a time.
Because of the traceability only TU students can offer this service for the time being. Therefore we ask you to book the appointment with your university e-mail address. You will receive an automatic confirmation. If you did not use your university e-mail address, we will cancel the appointment!
If you still show up without an appointment, we will have to send you away again. So please make an appointment so that you don’t have to go to the university for nothing!

The rental is intended for students in need and we currently have only a few devices available. So if you have enough resources (e.g. money) to make the purchase yourself, we ask you not to use our lending service! Then we can help more students who need the loan to continue their studies.

In special and justified cases, the loan can be extended by half of the loan period (i.e. by 1 or 3 months). Please contact us for this purpose. Unfortunately, we can only allow the extension if we have enough equipment available and no students are on the waiting list.
The loan works like this:
Application and verification You submit an application online (see Application form under the point Documents). This will be checked by the social team and either accepted or rejected. You will receive a response within a maximum of 2 weeks.
Conclusion of contract If your application is accepted, the loan will be carried out in the AStA. You will have to sign a loan contract (see Documents below) and a receipt. For this purpose, bring your current certificate of study with a valid identification document to the personal check. After signing the contract you will receive the device(s).
Return of the device(s) With the return and confirmation of the return, the contractual relationship and thus the loan ends. For this we will meet again at the AStA. If you have any questions, please use the contact form under the point Problems and Questions.
In order to carry out the loan, some things must be regulated to give you the security, for how long and what conditions you get the equipment. For this reason, a contract is concluded between us. In doing so, both parties enter into obligations that are briefly summarized below. The summary does not replace a careful reading of the contract!

Laptop The laptop comes with Windows 10 pre-installed. You are welcome to install other operating systems if you want. Any other programs you need you have to install and pay for yourself. In many cases, the university and the faculties have cooperation agreements for programs that you need in your studies. You can find the offers from the university here: https://service.tu-dortmund.de/group/intra/software Among them is Office365 for 5 devices with a total price of 4,99€ per year or Citavi, which is free. Alternatively, there are freeware options for most commercial products, for example the office program Libreoffice: https://de.libreoffice.org/.
When the device is returned at the end of the loan period, we will delete all data from the device and reset the PC to factory default before loaning it again.
Do not unscrew the device during the period of use. If it seems necessary, be sure to contact us beforehand!
Headset The headset is plug and play as of Windows 10. This means the driver should already be pre-installed. For older Windows versions and for other operating systems, do your own research first and if you have problems, you can ask us.
Webcam The webcam also only needs to be plugged in and should be recognized and usable directly from Windows 10. In case of problems or other operating systems, do your own research first and ask us if you have any problems.

ATTENTION: Do not pay the semester fee until your application has been either accepted or denied.
If you cannot afford the semester ticket and the student body dues whatsoever, then…
… the hardship application might help. Students facing financial hardship may be exempt from paying these fees. For this purpose, the student fees include 2,30 Euros for hardship applications. These hardship applications can be filed out online on the general students’ committees (AStA TU Dortmund) homepage. This means that if you face existential financial problems due to the fees for the semester ticket and the student body dues (added amount of 222,87€/per semester), you can apply for a hardship compensation for winter semester 2022/2023 from the general students’ committee. Please note that the deadline varies based on whether you have been matriculated already, or whether you are a first semester student.
The deadline for people who are already matriculated is on Friday, July 22 th 2022, 12 o’clock midday. Deadline conformity will be determined by when the application with all the needed documents arrived at email@example.com (via the submission portal). Deadlines for first semester students are listed in the chart below.
Within the following weeks, the applicants need will be reviewed. If the application is accepted, the part of the semester fee (the ticket and student body due, 222,87€), will be transferred to the student’s office for you. No matter if your application has been accepted or denied, you will be notified via e-mail about its status.
Please note that only after you have received our e-mail, you should transfer the amount of money that is said to the student office. Should you transfer partial amounts of the fee before, the matriculation or renewal of matriculation may be strongly delayed, and you might, for example, receive the semester ticket later.
If you do not receive an e-mail from us until the 5 th of August 2022, then please immediately contact us (the AStA) via e-mail or phone.
Please remember that the 93,-€ for the Studierendenwerk can under no circumstances be payed for by us!
The outstanding balance (93,-€ if the application is accepted and the complete balance if it’s denied respectively) has to be payed to the student office until the deadline of the 19 th of August 2022. On average you will have two weeks remaining to do so.

The AStA offers a wide range of materials and rooms for loan to the student councils, AGs and committees of the TU Dortmund student body.
The materials and rooms can only be reserved online. For better planning of the rental, a reservation should be made at least one week in advance. Our cultural team will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the rental of materials. An overview of the deposit can be found in the respective description.
We ask for your understanding that loans cannot be made externally or to private individuals.
The management of the advertising pillars on campus have been transferred to the AStA by the TU Dortmund. Therefore, billposting is only permitted after approval by the AStA. Requests from organizations and especially companies without any connection to the student body will generally not be approved. Unapproved posters will be removed again for a fee!
All student groups, autonomous units and student bodies can book the advertising pillars themselves in the booking system.
Bookings of the advertising pillars should not be longer than one week, so that everyone has the opportunity to use the advertising pillars. If you notice shortly before the event that the week before or after the previously booked time is still free, you are always welcome to contact the cultural department of the AStA again personally.
Please check the booking system to see who has just booked a slot on the booking system and do not tape over them.
The advertising pillars and their slots as they are in the booking system are meant to have three slots on the advertising pillars. This does not mean that there is slot 1 at the top, slot 2 in the middle and slot 3 at the bottom, but that you simply book a free slot on the advertising pillars. Therefore, please take into consideration when other events are hanging, which have not yet run and are also reserved in the booking system, not to paste over them.
Be considerate of each other and be fair.
Advertising in the Studierendenwerk: Information for the Student Body
Since flyers cause technical problems with the dishwasher, we now no longer allow flyers to be placed on the tables in the main cafeteria. For this purpose, flyer racks are now available behind the cash registers in the main cafeteria. In order to use these and place flyers there, permission must be obtained from University Catering. Please direct your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. The respective flyer has to be attached to the e-mail. We ask you to remove the displayed flyers directly after the event or after one week.
There is also the possibility to display advertisements related to the study or the daily study routine on the monitors free of charge. Please send your advertisement to email@example.com. The team will then briefly check your ad to see if you are also from an AG, a student council or an autonomous unit and then forward the ad. Ads that are received by the Studierendenwerk by Wednesday can be published the following week. Furthermore, the promotion stands are available free of charge for the above mentioned purposes. The promotion stands can be booked from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 – 17:15 and on Friday from 7:30 -16:15. Reservations should be made at least 4 weeks in advance and should not exceed three consecutive days. Requests to reserve promotional booths should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. For this purpose, please let us know the specific content and, if necessary, send us a viewing copy of the promotional materials.

The AStA bicycle repair shop is a free of charge self-help service for all students and university members who want to repair their own bikes. The service is for those of you who dare to work on their own bike but don’t have the room and the tools they need. Even if this is your first time working on derailleur gear or lighting system – we’re always happy to help. This is your opportunity to get into it without having to worry about your bike not working anymore afterwards.
The repair shop is located at Haus Dörstelmann on Campus Süd. You can easily get there from Hörsaalgebäude I and from Archeteria. Just pass the Rudolf-Chaudoire-Pavillion towards Baroper Straße and turn right. After a few meters, turn left to driveway 43 and follow towards the end of the parking lot. On the right side of Haus Dörstelmann, you find the entry to the repair shop.
Students of TU Dortmund University are allowed to have documents pertaining to their studies authenticated by our staff. These documents are, for example, official transcripts, high school diplomas or certificates of achievements. Please make sure that you bring both the originals as well as the copies we are supposed to authenticate with you to the meeting.
Authentication can be booked from Monday to Friday at the AStA offices. You can reserve a spot here.
